Effective way to carry out virtual training in your company
A study conducted by the consulting firm Trust Corporate, on the importance of human talent training in companies, shows that investing in employee training has a positive impact on the companies' competitiveness, on the fulfillment of strategic objectives, and improvement of results.
In addition, continuous training of employees makes it possible to respond to new challenges of the environment (COVID-19) and mandatory requirements established by the governments; in the case of Colombia, we found examples such as training in the Management System for Safety and Health at Work (MSHW) and compliance with Law 1257 of 2008 on the promotion of the human rights of women in the workplace.
Trust Corporate also indicates that in the future, business management with a human rights approach will tend to mandatory regulation. Currently, a new initiative has been launched in the European Union for the "mandatory integration of environmental and human rights due diligence of European companies and their supply chain," reports the consultancy firm in its analysis.
Considering the above, if you train your employees by following the legislation in force in your country, it will be an important step to strengthen your company, consolidate it, expand it and enhance its reputation. How is it possible to achieve this effect through e-learning?
Let's answer this question based on a real case: The Corporate Integrity Course for MSMEs.
In 2020 the United Nations Development Program UNDP in Mexico hired Dominio Estudio to provide consulting services to virtualize and deploy in Moodle the contents of the course on Corporate Integrity for micro, small and medium enterprises.
The objective of the course is to contribute to provide Mexican MSMEs with support resources to respond to the requirements of Article 25 of the General Law of Administrative Responsibilities.
The Dominio Estudio team, together with the product owner, started the project execution based on the analysis of the participants' learning needs. Afterward, the team of pedagogical adapters established the instructional matrix and then adapted the contents pedagogically.
For their part, the team of illustrators and graphic interface designers defined the look and feel of the project, and then the developers transformed the course into a functional product, validated by the product owner in several iterations in each of the steps described above.
As a result, a virtual course was produced, with infographic videos, interactive activities, downloadable documents, and cases, within the SCORM package.
Additionally, a simultaneous process was carried out on the Moodle platform, customization according to the graphic identity of the entities interested in the project, input and output evaluations, forums, satisfaction survey, and generation of the certificate.
Finally, the project included a pilot test in which the course deliverables were fine-tuned according to the perception of a group of participants, thus obtaining a very satisfactory outcome of the virtual training at the launch of the first edition (in which more than 100 people participated), creating more learning needs, as evidenced by the opinion of the participants:
"It is interesting to have this kind of courses, I hope to be invited to many more," said an internal auditor of a private Mexican institution, or "Thank you very much for making this opportunity available, I feel fortunate, and it will be especially useful to me. Congratulations", as expressed by a coordinator of the DIF, a public institution in that country.
